OUR REVENUE.

INCREASE FOR THE JUNE. QUARTER. . RETURN OF EXPENDITURE WITHHELD. A summary of - the revenue for the Juno quarter, but no details. •as to ■ tho, expenditure, has been mado availablo by; tho Hou. J;;A. Millar, Acting-Minister.' , for Finance. Referring' to tho.return, Mr. Millar states that there is an increased revenue of £34,678 compared with tho correspondinir quarter of 1908. .The total increases, ho, continues, amount to £120,896, but there are decreases amounting."in all to £86,218', 'made up. of £38,085 in Customs .owing to the. concessions granted' in. tho revision of -the tariff'; £20,368 in , ;territorial revenue, due tei'tho sotting apart, of' the , revenue from nine , millions of acres of Crown ■ land as a national endowment;, and £'22,598 in stamps, which he describes as an item extremely liable to fluctuation, and included under,that heading were- instate duties. Mr. Millar ako sayi that the increase of £92,338' in railway: receipts, is that produce and' passengers are being moved around ,in increasine proportions.... . : ; ; ■, , , T.
