Dance at Tinakorl Road.

Mrs. M'Lood gave a ploasant little dance on Tuesday evonuig at her homo in Tinakori Road as a farewell for her son, Mr. Don. M'Leau, who is going to Sydney. Mrs. M'Lcod received in a>«dross of black silk with cream lace. ■ Miss M'Leod wore black silk with trimming of sequined net; Miss M. M'Leod, white chiffon taffetas; and Miss I. M'Leod, whito with blue tiimming. Among the guests were ,the Misses Sherriif, in whito mushn; Miss Soaton, white chiffon taffetas; Miss It..Hursthou'se, white silk; Miss Claridge, pink frock with green trimmings; Miss Svonseri, whito 6ilk; Miss I. Brandon, whito muslin: MissSealo, yellow silk; Mii-s M'ynks, pink silk; Miss Buxton,, pale-blue silk; Miss , Nixon, pale violet frock with bands of deeper violet; and Messrs. G. Smith, G. Webb, Perkins, Hursthouso, Hyams, Dudley, Graham, Dean, and Thompson (3). Sir Joseph .'and Lady Ward were entertained in Adelaide at a Parliamentary luncheon, on June 24. Afterwards thoy were entertained by the Attorney-General of South Australia (Hon. Mitchell), and the same evening partook of tea at Government . House. Mr. William Honey, formerly of Wellington, and who was for a time on the literary the'"Manawatu Times," is to bo married in Melbourne next month to Miss Flo. Houghton, of St. Kilda. Mr. .Honey was, some time ago, on the staff of tho Melbourno "Argus." Miss Ferry, daughter of Mr. Tom' Ferry, of Wanganui, arrived from-Sydney by the Ulimaroa yesterday afternoon. Mrs. James Holmes is visiting Mrs. Matthow Holmes. >
