GREYTOWN NOTES.
The annual meeting of the Permanent Investment and Loan Association of Wairarapa was held ,in Greytown yesterday, Mr. M. Caselberg occupying the chair. Messrs. J. ■. "i R. '■■■•: • Nicol and D. P. Loasby were,. ro-elected directors, and Messrs. Mark • Marion and: H. Dudding auditors; ■ The ohairman congratulated, the society on.the prosperous year, notwithstanding the dull times. The report stated that the amount on mortgage is _ now £42,576 Os. 7d., the securities for which are ample.] There are 1271 investment shares now current, 125 shares having been paid off,, and 118 new'ones being taken up during the year. The Natives at Papawai intend to entertain the Acting-Prime Minister on July 28, when a presentation will be made to him. ,
