' London, July 4. ' The landslip at tho excavation works in connection with tho extension of tho Alexandra dock iat Nowport, in Monmouthshire, resulted in 25 deaths.
Many heroic efforts wore made,to rescue tho buriod men. Flood waters drowned many who had probably found shelter under the timber.
