June' 22, convoying a scientific party from Germany.- After -passing tho t Customs, the steamer'left' 'for the other islands pf the group. Thence'she goes to Tahiti, Elizabeth and Ducio Islands. It Is surmised that the expedition :, was" seeking phosphates.
