At. the Woodstock shaft a'large chamber had been cut into tho solid rook in preparation for tho installation of the winding gear. On tho thirtcunth level another phnmber is being prepared for the pumping nianhia-' cry for that arid tho lower levels of;tho shaft. The. last vein which has been/ opened in the thirteenth level discloses' very' promising oro. A visit was also paid to the Maoriland mine, on the* ■'Waitekaori, where two reefs now being operated on sbow ore: of : various- degrees of quality.
