) -' * , IXB NEW QUARTERS. ,'.''' - STAFF REORGANISATION. •The Public Trustee (Mr. J. \V. Poynton) *nd his staff'have moved into the one new building on- Lambton. Quay, whioh was formt ally opened about three weeks ago. Tho Mttbhg-in process was in full swing yesterday, but business was transacted in the new 'quarters throughout tho day. The ground arid first floors, and the basement, ' are entirely occupied by, the Public Trust Oflico.<Tho most important branch, that of wills-and trusts, is located in a large room, 90ft..by 31ft., on the first floor. (This room has a- public vestibule and counter, as also has the atill larger room downstairs, where persons having business with, any of the S^herJbranches of the office are attended to. The 'Pnbho Trustee, the solicitor, and tho inspector have their separate rooms on tho ft"? floor, while the Deputy Public Truetce and the District Manager are conveniently loeated ( downstairs. The ' appointment of/ a District .Manager for Wellington is a nen departure. All Wellington business will go\,throqgh this, oflirer. and thus Mr Poynton will beJFre© to guo more attention to i the general administrate o work of his important and growing department of tho Piibhc Service 'ihe Distrust, Manager i? Mr. 'I D. Kendall, who Jias for isome time occupied the position of accountant Mr. A. Purdie will take his place us accountant, and the position ot - «Mminf r, vacatrd by Mr Pnrdie, will be filled by Mr. W. Barr Mr. (J. H Price, «f the wille jtatf, will bo chief olerk to the Pistnct Manager, and Mr. G. H. 'Chesterman, of the intejteoy branch, will assist him ;as second clerk. The redistribution of duticj involved in these appointments will ta'co place gradually. All future Welling* ton business coming into the offico will go to the District Manager, but tho Public Trtistfle will continue to give his personal attention to local estates, which aro already administered by him. The results of a recent conference between the Public Trustee and his agents in differont parts of the Dominion, promise to bo very boneflciaj to the working of the office, through the introduction of changes in procedure, by means of .which business should be. considerably expedited. One alteration which will bo appreciated by tradesmen and others will, enable the branch offices to pay local accounts without reference to the head office, t '
