The pumps' are capable of dealing with 2500 gallons 'of water per minute. They will be worked by electricity generated by water power. Tho company has a magnificent first right horn Lake KanieriV .This was purchased from, the old Lake kaiileri Company, lyhich acquired the privilego over thifty<years ago. 'The'Ross goldficld was famous for its great production of the precious' inetiil in the early days. Many years ago spme of the lower levels were worked for a short period .to a depth of 360 ft., and yielded some hundreds of thousand pounds worth • of, gold. The pumps were old-fashioned, and'too weak for the work, and the company went ihto liquidatioii. ■ Although -the main* bottom , was never reached, the existence of rich gold in the sixth arid seventh levels was proved beyond dotibt. Tho present company expect to commence pumping this month.
