FOUND ON THE BEACH. : ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.)' ' Napier, Jiino 29. An inquest was held this afternoon. touching tho doath of Henry Marcus Black, a sipglo mail, aged 39 years,' whose .body. was. found on tho. beach at, tho southern.'end of tho Marino Parade this morning.. Deceased was a member; of .tho firm of Black Bros., painters and decorators. He had suffered from despondency .and. insomnia, but. was' possessed of arnpto means, and had had some intention of starting business at Hastings. When found the body Was fully clothed, and • deceased's bicycle was about twenty-fiVc yards ' aWay, also below 'high-water mark. The coroner returned a verdict of . drowning, but added that, whether 'it was wilful or accidental, there was not sufficient evidence to show.. ' ■ • ■ ■ - ; SUDDEN DEATH. . Auckland, June 29. Tho death took .place suddenly to-day of a man named Henry Stuart 'Ashton,-aged 42.' Deceased was walking into ,tho city, and while climbing the . steep rise which leads from, the.' bottom of Gralton ■ Road to Wyn,yard Street he collapsed aiid expired. Deceased hajj for some time been suffering from 1 heart trouble. Duncdln, Juno 29. Mr. J. A. Atnge, licensee of the Grand Hotel for the last eight years, died suddenly about 11 o'olock last'night. Ono of his sons ■ Kod-roid;good night to him "a few minutes previously, a,nd another son on going into tho bedroom a fow minutes later found his father just on the point of death; Deceased, 'who Buffered from aWeak" heart, was 52 years old.. Ho. arrived, in the Dominion.. 31 years and aftor serving with s the Union Company for 12 years toot up liotelkeeping. . AN EXPRESSMAN'S DEVTII ~ 1 Auckland, June 29. An oxpressman,'John Frederick Ramsay, ( who was thrown from his vehicle in' Jervois i.Jtoad.. yesterday,"morning, succrambed : to-<ia.y to the injuries he received. - The horse tachod to the express bolted, and tho ■■cart'j oollidcd with a T tree, with tho: result • that Ramsay , was thrown heavily on his head.
