, MISS HOOK, OF HOLLAND.' With a bright and merry musical comodv. and a company of players admirably suited to its characteristics; the Mcynell-Gunn season at the Opera House bids fairly to be a success. Pretty Miss Hook, of Holland, mado 11 K? ond , a PPearance last evening, before a well-filled house. Attractively quaint in the picturesque costume of the Hollanders, the Dutch girls were ono of ,the brightest features ot the production, while , the drolleries of the comedians caused unrestrained merriment. Miss. Euth Lincoln, as Miss Hook, is very ??PP£,; n ? er interpretation or the name part; Mr. Thorloy (Bandmaster Van Vuyt) makci a picturesque figure, ind is essentially sound in his role. •■ The hurilour of things is in tho capable. hands of Messrs. Edwin Brett (Mr. Hook), Willum Cromwell (Slinks), and Tom Payne (Ludwig Schnapps). The comedy will be staged again, to-night. . . • . ■. ; THEATRE UOYAL. ■, / -Variety and quality . are, the outstanding features of the present programme, which is being submitted: at the Messrs. Fullers' singing picture entertainment, at the Theatre Eoyal. The bill is right up to the firm's high standard, and the : combination of. comedy, instruction, and tragedy is so interwoven that no audience. could tire ofi the fare provided.
