Tho United States Senate has adopted an amendment to tho tariff, moved by Senator Aldrich, enabling President Taft to impose double duty on pulp, and to impose a duty of eight dollars a ton on newsprint paper, if Canada maintains her restrictions against tho oxport of pulp and wood.
