The president (Sir Wilfaam Russell), in reviewing the 'events of the year, , touched upon the question of press telo- , ' grams. Ihe Chamber of Commerce had been successful in arranging that news sent from Hastings to Napier should be dated and superscribed as from Hastings. In regard to railway matters, the chamber had discussed with the Minister for Railways certain proposals for a faster service to'and from Wellington. The matter was now under consideration.
