MAJOR M'DONALD AND THE EDUCATION BOARD.
■ SuVr;Now that Major M'Donald has been (Pitted Commanding Officer of- tho Public bchool Cadets, it' seems to mo that he ought' to resign his membership'•' of the' Board of Mucation. : Tho position he is:now,holding-is' an anomalous one, for ho is an inspector over the work - of. certain teachers,' while at 'tho same time ho-is-a member of tlw'-board that has to adjudicate pubis reports. Thonagain he may at^any'tinie' come into collision with' tho headmaster.of a school 'in'his' military capacity, as he may order work-tfl be dono by cadots which j, owing 'to interference" with school work, th.it headmaster mav refuse to agree to. Can; the Commanding Officer forgot in'this case that he is a .member.of the board?. I think, not,- but-at'anv-rate ': ho should not have, the chance 6( for he should .not hold a position. where : ho has to send in reports-, tea'board'-of".which ho himself is a'member.—l am; etc ■''■ 'c. ;;:;;5 HAKi;
