■ , . 1 ——— The monthly meeting of the Board of Governors of Wellington College, and the Girls' High School, wsb held yesterday, there being present. Mr. A do B. Brandon (chairi mail), Miss Richmond, Mr. Robert Lee, Dr. Newman, and Mr. W. H. Field; M.P Accounts amounting to £1243 lis. 4d wore passed for 1 payment TJio '• monthly statement of finances showed that there was o'dfebit balance of £89 3s. 3d. An analysis **f the receipts and prospective cxpenditu'es , showed that the credit balance as per bank book stood at £1157 2s'2d.; lodged, but not credited, £3 19s. 3d.; total, £1161 Is, 6d., le& unprosented cheques (£6 13s. 4d.), £1164 Bs. Iq. Against this, tile prospective payments amounted to £1243 lis. 4d., an exc6ss of £89 3s. 3d. over tho total credit balance. Tho fees outstanding at Wellington College amounted to £2052 9s. 9d. (second 3s. 7d , arrears, £937 65,, 2d.). At the Girls' College, tho outstanding foes totalled £438 0s 6d. (second term, £234 Is. 7d , arrears, £203 los. lid.) Outstanding rents amounted to £173 10s Id. The credit balance,,on paper, was theroforo £2664 CK 4d , The :hairraan explained that the major , portion of tho outstanding money was owinr in respect of the Government's grant f»r free place pupils Owing to tho amount of work entailed in the preparation of tha official returns, some delay had been experienced m sending them in, and the Government grant was not available in consequence < ' ■ it^ 10 k° ar d then went into committee over the-re-arrangement of certain leases.
