TIDY'SCHOOLS TO BE INSISTED* TJPON. -■ The Wellington Education ' Board has decided,"from information received," that itwill be necessary to insist tipon school 'precincts and classrooms being-kept clean and tidy, and- with this : purpose in view, the following, circular letter is to.. be addressed to all teachers in charge of schools, on the principle that those whom;the caps may fit may wear them:—' . : '.' ..'■' ' ' ■•■' "It' has been brought • under tho notice of the board that tho cleanliness and tidiness of rooms and premises do not receive adequate attention on the part of somo teachers. The reports show that, .in some .instances, rooms, walls, and windows are dirty, paper and litter of all kinds are allowed to /lie about the grounds, and the general order and appearance of schoolrooms and grounds' are very. unsatisfactory. 'In, soveral instances the, outside offices, have, not-received sufficient inspection on the parl; of the teachors. These latter should be.inspected daily, and scribbling and cutting of'the school"property should be put down with a firm hand. Should the cleaner be-ut fault, a report shoull be at once made to the school committee, but every effort, should be made by tho teacher to see that, as fnr as cleanliness,'tidiness, and order are concerned, everything pßrtaining to the school should be an object-lesson to tile.children. The board considers this a) important that I am directed to inform you that it has instructed its inspectors'to pay particular: attention to thai; part of tho report which deals with this question."
