ADen, vice-chancellor, pointed out the necessity for additional accommodation, for the dental school. The council asked for £500, but ( on the Minister, asking .that the amount might be reduced, Mr. Allen said that £400 might do. Mr... Fowlds expressed pleasure, at the general results of building, operations at the mining school, and. then went on to say. that he was in full sympathy,with the proposal to establish a Chair of Domestic Economics. With the money already-guaranteed and subsidies such a chair could carry > on for'.-'afc",.least throe years,'.and possibly arrangements might be 'made for a; longer period, or it might even bo made perinauj ent. without trenching on'the general revonue.tif, the university if the utility of the work wero thoroughly established.
