Mr. ,David Ziman, managing director of tlie Consolidated; Goldfields Company,; of Eeefton has been in' Auckland during last week ivith the object of laying before those: interested a soheme.for the consolidation of the whole'-of tho Thames field so far as the deep levels are concerned. His plan was to form a large English company through tho. Consolidated Gold-' fields .Company. Mr. Ziman has been round the Thames field, and satisfied .himself of , its possibilities. ■' Ho has also, approached some of the;chairmen and directors'of tho different companies on tho subject. Finding, however, that at the present timo a deep levels scheme appears to bo on tho verge of formulation by which the companies will exploit--..the deep levels themselves if Government assistance'can be obtained, Mr. Ziinan did not think it advisable to. compete against tho local scheme' 1 If, however, the latter falls through, it is his intention to visit .the Thames again'in connec.
