MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
Despite the unpleasant weather last evening, a-large andienoe assembled at the Missions ■ to Seamen Institute, whero'a most ehjoyablo concert was provided by the;pupils of the Wellington Girls' College, under.'. the direction of Mif« MTjean,\the principal. Mi;. James Moore, the missioner, occupied the chair. The following contributed items to the, programme fPianoforte. duet, Misses Dull and Edpiondeon; chorus, " Waiata Poi," by the singing class; song,' Mrs. Bta&e;' violin solo, Miss E. Hoby; recitation, Miss B. Jensen; song, Mr. Warrenj club swinging. Miss E. Burr;'ohoruses, "Men of Harlech" and "British Grenadiers," by tho' singing olass. Miss Dall acted as accompanist. Several choruses were sung style by the audience, Mrs. Burke. playing the • accompaniments.' A conundrum competition was won by sailors from ships in port. During a ! short interval, the miEmoner delivered an earnest temperance address. The performers' wero accorded a hearty vote of thaaks.
