Sir,—l see, by the last returns, that, the, Gear Aleat Company for tlio liist five months killed- 600,000 sheep and 8500 head of cattle. This is an argument against croakers who are always crying the country down. Theso figures alone' are sufficient proof to point out that I'etpno is prosperous,. and one of the soundest towns in the'.North Island, l'rop'erty ownors know this well, and values are in no way decreasing, but are on the increase.
