CRUTCHINGS WORTH SAVING.
A GLANCE AT WOOL'OPERATIONS. At Mr. J. Morrison's at Tokorangi the other day .(writes our travelling correspondent) I found iho station hands busy crutchmg some remarkably good two-tooth owes, which were in grand condition. The others must have been good sheep,, as Mr. Morrison told mo these were really the culls, as he had sent away, three hundred fatsout t of the llock. What a nice job tho machines make when crutching is on! It is a much cleaner and less'laborious work than 'iviien'dono by. What a good thing;it is ; to read that ifijd.' -'haa been got for ' crutching.? at recent sales. No wonder tho filieen men fire •in better heart. It is remarkable what a rapid recovery has . been mado in the woof market, and all the more wonderful when one sees tho state of trade overseas. Now that wool: has mado such a splendid recovery it is to- bo hoped that boom prices, to be foikiwed by another slump. ,will. not . result. Tho ''fly in the ointment 1 ' is, of course, the low price of our mutton and lamb at Home; but even .there wo see signs of improvement. Tho increased expansion in the iron trades at Home .is. a fair indication of better days for the workers.
