BASIS OF MAINTENANCE. A notice in this week's Gazette vests tho control of the' Upper Gorge Bridge over the Mana'iyatji River in the Pahiatua County Council, and furthor sots oiit that the bridgo shall bo under the exclusive care, control, and management of the: council of the : Pahiatua Count}'; and it has been decided that tlio cost of maintaining; repairing, improving, or reconstructing tno said bridge shall be borne by the Pahiatua County Council, tho V.'oodville Borough Council, the Woodville County Council, tho Kairanga County Council, tho Palniorston Borough Council, tho Fcilding Borough Council, and tho Oroua County Council in the following proportions, viz.: The Pahiatua County Council shall pay thirty per cent.; the Woodville Borough Council, thirteen' per cent.; tho WoodviUe County' Council, soventeon and a half per cent.; the Kairanga County Council, nino per cent. ; tho Palmorston Borough Council, nine por cent.; tho Feildiug Borough Council, four £er cont.; and the' Oroua County Council, seventeen and a half por cent, of such cost respectively. The same allocation has been determined 'with regard to that'part of the Manawatu Gorge Eoad in tho Pahiatua County.
