Before the Nowoastlo Collieries Board, counsel for the proprietors is applying for one in plaoo of the-many wages boards that havo been appointed. Counsel stated- that Newcastle is losing much of its coal trade, owing to industrial turmoil* He instanced a'contract of a million tons of coal that had been lost. Japan had secured an order for 60,000 tons that always previously' came to Newcastle, and much of the trado with South America had fallen off.
