BOY SCOUTS.
;/ THE TELEGRAPH TROOP., : Tho Boy Scouts movement seems to have "caught on" with the telegraph messengers of Wellington, and the Telegraph Troop; which has been , in existence about three weeks; bids fair to have a vigorous life. Four patrols of six soouts eacu have been formed," and'it is expected that there .will soon be ot least two more. The leaders aro Messrs. F.-Neish. (Red Deer Patrol),'L. G." Pope (Beaver Patrol), G. Irvine (Kangaroo Patrol), and E. Petfie (Otter Patrol). They have secured «s scout-masters Meesrs. James Boyle and Percy Barnes, both of whom saw service as scouts in the South African war;. Mr. F. Neish is business manager, : Mr. A. E. Thompson, of tho telegraph staff, is secrotary, and the treaaureris Mr.A. F. Riddell. A meeting, which is to be held at the Y.M.C.A. at 7 p.m. tomorrow,'is expected to result in perfecting the organisation of the troop.- Members or other troops, and boys wishing to join will, be welcomed. The membership is not confined to telegraph messengers, and the troop _is not connected with the Y.M.C.A. There is no entrance fee or subscription, bat some fnnds have been collected, and means of increasing • them are under consideration. The officers seem to havo taken up their duties with a good deal of enthusiasm. Next Saturday , members of the troop will join the Miramar troop in a practice at Miramaiv
