TRAMWAY REVENUE.

' 7 A report submitted to tie Tramways Committee o£ the City Council yesterday, grnng a return of the revenue and expenditure on tno ; tramways for the £oui -weeks ended May .26, weeks from April. 1 to May, 26 amounted to .£10,302, an increase of £150 as compared with the corresponding period of last year. The working expenses ' amounted to £7035,. & de- , oreaae of £1 as,compared with last year. The net surplus for? , {he four weeks amounted to £162, qr £iD more than for the same period last year. The gross revenue for the eight weeks from April 1 to May 26 amounted to ~i51,039,0r .£lB6 more' than, last year. The workin" expenses for the sarao period amounted to £14,212, as compared with laet year. After providing for interest, sinking fund, and depreciation charges, amounting in all to £8208, • which are increased this year,' owing to the amalgamation 'of the public lighting (track' arcs) with the tramways accounts, the net surplus for the eight weeks to date is £61$, as compared with .£BO7 last year.
