Except that a strong wind was blowing, thb conditions were favourable for golf at Suuningdalo on April 24, when Mid-Surrey boat Hindheid in tho final of the London amateur foursomes by 7 up and 5 to play. Hiiidhbad played well in the morning round, at the end of which they wore two down, but in the afternoon Mid-Surrey played » magnificent long gatno. Tbo Mid-Surroy representatives were, Mr. G. S. Worthington and Mr. S. G. Chesterton, while Mr. E. C. Lee and Mr. W. 6. Howarth played for Hindhead. Rackets. : ' Mr. H. Brougham (Wellington and Oxford) defeated Mr. Ivor de la Kue (Eton and Oxford) in tho final round of tho amateur championship singles by 3 games to 0. Tho loser was quite a match for his opponent in tactics and rally play, but inferior in service and execution of strokes. The second game was very even and exciting, Mr. Brougham, after setting at 14 all, just getting home after "game ball all" by a fine service.
