YACHTING NOTES.
I There is great activity now that the .yachting season is coming to a clo6e. Many, of the smaller craft have been pulled up on the hard to be cleaned and painted, though most of the larger yachts have.slips at Martin's Bay and at /the Patent Slip. The crews of the Janet, Syren, May, and other large yachts are now very busy getting the rigging and masts oii their croft. The'crew, of the yacht Janet did Some smart work on Saturday afternoon, They came clown at about two o'clock, and, cleared the decks of mast and rigging, and, at about ,4,30, they were towed round to Martin's Bay by Mr. Johnson's launch. They lli'eri put 1 ho" yacht in the crndlo, hauled it up high and dry, nnd nrrived home nt quarter to fix! .It is reported Hint the owners of the yacht Wliitii ■Heather have experienced bad luck with thoir slip, the rails having moved. "'■ Tho small 14ft.' Endeavour, wlilch i\ now in the hands of F, Jnmieson, is looking very neat. She has been fiteed with a new sot of sails. Mo dpilbt' tho boat will do iiome' work in next season's racing. t Last I'riday'evening Dr. Mnegill'(commodore of the P.N.Y.C.), gave a dinner to tho memhei's of his crew, at, his residence at Miramar Mr, S.'K. Forbes was presented'with a handsome pair nf field-glasses, and'the rest of'the' crew were the recipients of a silver mulch-box each..' ■■;■."' . The following yachts are already on the slip—Janet.
