Hntt Park'racecourse was the scene of tlrt Wellington ' Harriers' weekly run on Saturday; and also of a handicap :race for this sea- . sons, novices; which was decided before the , commencement of i the club run. a Of the fourteen entrants only nine faced the ' starter, who' dispatched them from tho following stark:—E. 8. P. Hodson led past the judge's box the first time, and, running very freely, kept his position to tho finish,' despite. . determined .. challenges frotri . M'Dowall' and Chnrtrcfl, who finished fifteen and twenty yards respectively behind the winner. Hod6-on's time for, the first lap was Gntin., and. for the full-distance, 12inin. 4flsoc. . Whincop finished a good fourth, some distance ahead of -White. The handicaps for the race, were framed by Messrs. W. n. Pollock and F. . Wilton, and: other, officials 'were: Messrs. A. ' C. Johnson and A.-W. Jinir, judges; W. Press and Tl.'A.'Lamb, track stewards', and E. Wilton, starter and timekeeper.
