Hollings, Mayor of Masterton, snid that 'the-'reputation: of tho 'Opaki/Bifle' Club "■'wos second to none in New-Zealand. '.The Defence 'Council'had imndo a. mistake in not including; some members of this club in IV).team sent to Australia.'' Tho members were to bo conj?ratii- ; Intcd' upon-, belonging to such a splendid institution, lit had put up/,records unequalled, by any other,olub:in the Dominion, and every other club .was .envious of the position vhich it hid justly earned. Eifle clubs were doing muoh to help the cause of universal military training/ Universal riflemen were needed o*en ! more than universally drilled men...
