There was a good attendance of the public, and competition was fairly keen.. There was a fairly largo yarding'of fat lambs, and the sale opened rather but improved' as it progressed, and closed at prices,equal with those ruling at tho previous sale, freezing buyers operated freely, and took the bulk of: the yarding, butchers for the most part standing off. Freezers made lis. to 155., a few heavy' weights making ■14s. Bd., and light weights 10s. Bd. to lis. ' The yarding of store sheep was slightly better than that of tile previous week, and included 'some good lines of ewes and hoggets. Airlines were disposed of after fair competition at prices on a par, with last week's, rates. A lino of 185 three-quarterbred wether hoggets fetched i 10s.-, average / lines of hoggets,/ mixed sexes, made Bs. 9d. to 9s. Gd., and culls 7s. to,Bs. A lino of two, four, arid six-tooth owes made 15s. lid.; full-month ewes, 14s.'; and failingmonth. ewes, Bs. bd. to" 10s. Wethers, of which there was a : small'yarding, . sold at prices equal to the previous sale. . ; -There was a large entry of fat sheep, which .included a considerable proportion of wellfinished lines. The-previous week's prices were well maintained.- The of prices was:— Prime ; wethers, 14s. 6d. to 17s. lOd.; lighter, 13s. to 145.; prime ewes, 12s. t0.145.; extra, to IBs. 7d,-; medium, -9s. 3d. to: lis. 1 6d.;, light, Bs. 9d. to 95.; merino wetSers, 9s. lOd. to 10s. 2d. ~; _ The yarding.of fatcattle was 294 head, which included , some animals of good ' quality. The tone of. the market was more brisk than at recent sales, and'an alUround advance of 2s. per 1001b. was recorded. Best steer. beef made 19s. to 225.; medium, 17s. Gd. to 15s. Gd.; and cow_ beef, ;15s. Gd. to 17s. per, 1001b.', Steers realised from .£7 ss. to -£10 7s. Gd.; heifers, .£5 to' £S; and cows, -£i 10s.
