Hall (Railway 7 Hotel), Nellie O'Hallaran (Porirua Hotol), W. liiggins (Weraroa Hotel), \Y. M'Kegg (Contivil Hotel), Matthew Moynihan (i'ahautanui Hotel), Mioliaol Moynihan (Shannon Hotel), ,Tamos Woods (Tolegraph Hotol)', Solmiui (Albion Hotol, Shannon), and G. W. Moorhouso (Manakau Hotel). In the caso of tho Woraroa Hotel t'ho polico stated that tho tank-stand Avas insccuro, but that the matter. Was being attended- to. . Regarding tho Shannon Hotel, the polioo reported that, dospito knocking, they could'not gain admission after hours, although they could hear talking.' Tho licenseo remarked that perhaps the polico wore over-attentive,' tho chairman retorting with: "Perhaps they havo a reason to bo." ' , . The plans of. tJio proposed hotel at Paekakariki did not altogether find favour with tho committoo, sornp moihbors considering t'ho accommodation inadequate. Tho application was therefore adjourned to July 1. A rcnowal was granted Frank Khodoe (Levin), but tho polico reported that tho privies woro in a bad state; thoro was no washhouse, and other nooessaiy accommodation was not sufficient. The S.M. also considered tho bar too small. Tho heensoo said that ho had pointed out {Jio discrepancies to the owner, who did not seem inclined to tako action, l'he application was adjourned to July 1 to allow of tho bar boing substantially increased and other improvements effected, ■ A transfer from T. Mahor to W. lliggins (Woraroa) was granted; wholesale licoiiso to. Swain eon and Bcvan renewed; and a conditional .license granted to W. M'Kegg for tho Ot«ki races,; at, a foo of £2 per day hours from 11a.m. to o p.m. . Reports on the Family Hotol, Otaki, lyeM considered unsatisfactory, and tho l»ck part, together with the stables, and other outbuild-* mgs needed re-<>rcoting. Fire-cseapo provision was also needed, lntt tho bedroom accommodation in tho front part was considered sufficient. The matter waa adjourned till the September meeting. TWO LICENSES REFUSED. The Parnpll I/ieenßiiig > Committoo intimated that it would rcquiro further evidence in regard to tho following four hotels Star and Garter at JPanmuro, I'anniure Hotei at Panmurc, Royal George at Newmarket, St, Heliers at' St. Ilcliors Day. Tho police now ' reported that the . conduct of tho two Panmure hotels "was entirely satisfactory, Tho committee had to closo two hotels. Tile eoinraittee decided to' refute. the licenses of the Star and Garter mid St. Heliors Hay Hotels. Tho two hotels to bo closed both belong to Messrs. Hancock and Co. They arc estimated to represent a monoy value of £5000, .tho St. Heliers houso being worth £3000 and tJio Panrauro Hotol £2000.
