Harcourt Turner, presiding. ..There; were *8 members• present The annual report of the committee stated that the nominal roll of the company stood at 53 on' Maroh: I,' 1908; during the year three men were.''transferred/ to;"the, reserve, and 17 resigned.': Sixteen '-recruits were-enrolled, leav'ihg.the^rollat^.on,February,2B, 1909. . Of: this number'; 46' earned,capitation, one trained man beingi',away from /.Wellington daring most of the .year,/and*two'recruits failed to qualify. .In June/last -.the 1 'Garrison Hall was officially Idpipned, and ; the accommodation .afforded in "drill hall' and "orderly; rooms was much appre..The Easter'manoeuvres.for 1908. were a distinct innovation,, being approximated as closely ;asi possible to active service conditions. The.oompa'ny was well represented, and excel-' lent training''afforded for all ranks. The assets of the;comparfji show'a balance of: £S6 2s. 6d. oyer the liabilities. Eeoruiting is still active, and with' a' very few additions, the maximum strength.will,ho attained. *■. '■•'. i .-" The report of the: Shpoting Committee showed 'that;, the company's.' marksmanship improved considerably Dy, the untiring efforts of Mr. Marshall, of the:Karori EUle Club, who has so generously coached the members. Tho; attendant at Trentham'also improved,, there- being ■:• an\average of U throughout' the 6eason. The 'committee would be pleased to see more recruits but in the forthcoming season, as they are eligible for every match. • The corps took part /m the Battalion' "Third-claEs Shield matohesj "and wore placed second. The.eleofcion of the subaltern officers of the corps of Dominion-.Scoots, which took place at a meeting of the corps held recently at Armit's, was subsequently held, in two cases, to have been invalid, as the. required two-thirds majority was. not obtained. To put matters right, another meeting of tho corps.was held at the Garrison ; Hall last evening, '.and an election which was held resulted in the samo officers being returned. .The names of the subalborn staff are Messrs.
