A number of members of the Wellington Typographical Union havo forwarded to the president a requisition askihg that a special meeting bo called to protest against tbo proposal that Parliament should adjourn after flitting for a few days., It is pointed Outihat if the Houses adjourn, as contemplated, a number of members of tho union will ho unable to obtain work at the Government Print- - ing Office during the worst part of tho winter. Tho meeting requisitioned will bo held noxt Saturday. It is stated that there are at present fifteen members of the Wellington Typographical Union out of. work. There were more about a month ago, but tho Government Printer put on a dozen. Tho" union has distributed £00 as unemployed relief money during the past three months. There are said to be twenty printers out of work in Auckland, about a dozen in Christchurch, but things are better in Duncdin. .
