Arohdcacon Wright is intimately associated : with all branches, of church work in Manchester. Ho is chaplain to the lay readers Of the has been.a prime mover in''the . diocesan missionary festivals, is on many.diocesan committoes, and has taken an active Interest in.hbme missionary work.' A writer in , England said last February that there was : "hardly any branch of public church work in whioh lie had-not already had good training."' As a citison he has taken a keen interest in tho industrial and other social questions, and ,in a comparatively recent sermon in the Manchester Cathedral ho showed his power in that direction. Two years, later ho was elected by ' trustees as vicar of St. George's, Leeds, an important parish in the north of England, The ohuroh. will seat 1400. , In 1904 he was" offered ,by„the Dean and Chapter of Manchester .tho position of canon residentiary and the parish , of St. George's.
