FARMERS' FIRE INSURANCE.
ANNUAL MEETING. , The third annual meeting of the Farmers' Union Mutual Fire Insurance Association of the! Wellington province was held. at' Eketahuna yesterday, Mr, J. G. Wilson presiding. '■. ■ The.report stated that .business had steadily'increased and; the finances improved. New business effected during the year amounted to £19,757, which brought the total insurance up to £102,099 10s: ■ Of this amount ■£4800 was reinsured. The', face value, ofpromium notes, 'held after deducting all payments ■■ and renewals ..thereon, amounted to' £6138 ss. 4d.' : The only loss during the year was for £1; which was very satisfactory on a total insurance of over,£loo,ooo.:' The total losses paid since the association was formed amounted to £601,' distributed as follows ':— For 1905-6, £75; 1906-7, £90; 1907-8, £435: 1908-9,:£1.
