A fire occurred in the "Waikato Times", office last night, the job printing and news departments being completely destroyed. The machines escaped with slight injury. The efforts of the brigade and a good force'.' of water alone prevented the complete demolition of tho building". The insurances are £940 on the plant and £300. on the building, in the Norwich Union office. The paper publishes to-day as usual. IMPORTERS'- STOCK BURNT.' Auckland,.May 26. A fire occurred to-night in the premises occupied by A. Tyree and Co., Limited, importers, a large portion of the stock being burnt. The soft-goods stock of Malcolm and Co., in the same building, was Blightly damaged by water. OUTBREAK ATTHE NURSES' HOME. ■ A small fire in one of the bedrooms on tho first floor of the Nurses' Home,: in tho Hospital grounds, required the-attention of tho Eire Brigade, at 12.49 yesterday,- but very little damage was done, the outbreak being confined to a wardrobe.. The cause of the fire was a defective dhimney,'
