RESULTS OF NO-LICENSE.
MR. T. B. TAYLOR, M.P., AND MR. RANKING.'
.Mr. T. E. Taylor, M.P., strongly disagrees with 6omo of the allegations contained in the report of Mr. Ranking, of Queensland, on the practical working of No-Liconso in New Zealand. Ho was in Queensland when the report was published, and when questioned by a Dominion reporter yesterday, ho said: "I addressed a meeting in Brisbane, at which several of the Cabinet Ministers and a large number of members of both Houses of -Parliament were present and I was able on that occasion to deal effectively with Mr. Ranking's report. I can tell you that the report is likely to be thoroughly discredited at no' distant dato by conclusive evidence, which is procurable in Now Zealand. His statements that municipal rates have gono up in all No-License areas, and that domestic drinking exists on a large scale as a' substitute for bar drinking, will bo categorically denied on the affidavits of competent and responsible witnesses."
