MEETING OF CREDITORS.
ESTATE OF MRS.' F. PETTY. ' A'meeting of creditors in the .bankrupt estate, of Mrs. ■ Fanny Petty, storekeeper, ■ was held yesterday, before the Official Assignee (Mr. A. Simpson). Four creditors were present. Mr. Levi appeared for tho bankrupt. Tho state-' meut of, assets and liabilities .showed that .£247. 19s. Id. Was owing to unsecured creditors. This' amount' constituted tlie total liabilities. The value of the stock-in-trade was set down at .£l5O, and book debts amounted to XS, tho estimated doGcicn.ivlJeiug.X92 195.. 4d., The sworn; statement set forth that the bankrupt commenced business three years ago at 128 Taranaki' Street as a trader in drapery and sundries, the business being purohased for .£2OO. Bankrupt, having no means of her own,, borrowed .£llO for part payment of the business, and paid off the balanco by instalments of 30s. weekly. Her- husband was a messenger in tho employ of tho Government, but had lost money by reason of illness. The business, which included the sale of school books, fell off very much, the total receipts over the three years' period amounting only, to £IY!3. The disbursements, including rent and instalments to tho vendor of the business, totalled ,£1455 4s. • 2d.
