FEILDING DISTRICT FARM ITEMS.
Tho directors of tho Cheltenham Dairy Company met at tho Druids' Hall, Kimholton, on Saturday to discuss with the suppliers the advisability of running tho Kim>olton creamery next season. Only soven or eight suppliers were present. Mr. Bruco occupied the chair, and explained to the meeting that the directors wished to know what support they were prepared to guarantee for the coming season. Mr. Nesdalo reported ■that-he had visited the settlers throughout the district to ascertain what support would bo forthcoming in the event of the creamery keeping open. Several had promised milk, and he thought that if the directors left tho matter in abeyance, for a week or ten days he would havo a sufficient number of cows ■ guaranteed. He regretted tho vory small at,tendance- of farmers present at the meeting. After, a.considerable amount of discussion, a motion was put and carried to that effect. ■ ' The annual meeting of the Cheltenham branch.of the Farmers' Union was presided : over,by Mr. Bruce. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of about £7. The following gentlemen were elected officers for the coming year:—President, Mr. J. Bruce (reelected); vice-president, Mr. James Barrow I (re-elected); secretary, Mr. Mills; auditor, Mr. H. Fisher; committee. Messrs. J. Corpe, W. Mills, J. S. Mills, John Hare, H. Donsham, J. R.- Johnson,. W. Strotten, W. Mitchell, W. Tappin, A. Barrow, J. Kilgour, C. A. J. Levett, and G. Mayo.
