RACING FIXTURES. Juno 3.—Wellington Pony and Galloway E.C. June U and i -Dumdiii J.C. Winter. Juno 3 and 1-OUki-Moon R.C. Winter. -■ June I), 5, and »~A.It,C. Great Northern Steeplechase Juno- 1G and 17.—Hnwko's Bay J C. Winter. ,' t June 23 and 21-Napier Phik R.C Winter. July 8 and !).—Gisbofno E.C. Steeplechase. . Aug. 10, 12, and U.-C.J.C. Grand National.

NOTES, AND COMMENTS.

Vβ* Glencok 1 In connection with tho Wellington Pony and Galloway Raoing Club's mcoting next week,'owners nre lemindcd that acceptances for tho two principal races closo to-morrow. Woodhey and Nogi were .railed homo from Wanganui t<l Hastings yesterday, Nogi was rather badly injuiod as a result of a contact with a fence in 'tho Wanganui Steoplechaso on .Saturday, and may not raco again thi3 season. Shuja, who was soriously injured at Dannovirke last December, is to be spelled until noxt season is fairly begun, and even then it, is considered doubtful if tho half-brother to Bclario will be able to race. Rangihaota struck himself on tho forearm whilo racing in tho Kaitoko Hack Hurdles on' Saturday, and was not in a fit condition to, bo-started yesterday. Ho will probably bo spelled for another week. C. Cochrauo, who is , riding very well this season, was on tho back of both hurdle winners at tho Wanganui meeting yesterday. Eo has now ridden tnelve' hurdle winners this eeason. > Irish Rifle was tho only double winner at tho Wanganui meeting. The Muskotry gelding won so easily on th& first day that it \i as generally considered Mr. Morso would be unable to handicap him out of yesterday's race. Winning' jockeys at tho Wanganui meeting, were :—G. Price (two), C. Cochrane (two), C. Jenkins, A. Oliver, H. Futcher, H. Cairns, J. Morris, W. Ayers, R. Lambess, D. Watt,' W. Young, and W. H. M'Kay (ono each). 'Since Mr. W. Hall assumed the secretaryship of tho Wanganui Jockey Club, tho meetings have been very successful, and_ it is a noticeable fact that, while tho totalisator f roturns of many other clubs are on tho decrease, thbse at recent Wanganui fixtures iave shown an increase. Tho chestnut colt Sir Artegal, who won tho Rojal'llandicap at the Takapune' meeting bn Saturday, 'had previously won half-a-dozen races this season. Lionheart, Leolanter, Liquid Air, and Contour are all on the easy list at present and are running ,in a paddock at Palmerston North. , ' ' ' t Though now weighted at the minimum, Prospector scorns to run worse every time he starts, and ho is not in anything hko his best form. The Gold Reef gelding'mado good improvement when schooled by C. O'Neill last autumn, but ho ar.pears to have gone all to pieces again. Cuiragno, who won the hurdlo raco at i Takapuna yesterday, is tho horse that won the Grand National Hurdlo Race in 1906, when Hydrant and Prospector filled the places. Morry Lass won a double on the first day of the Oamaru meeting and Obsona accomplished a similar font yesterday at tho same fixture. For his victory in the Century Hurdles, Belario will have to put up a penalty in the Great Northern Hurdles at Ellerslio next veek. and added to this ho will meet a ..ouplo of better horses in the race under note. v ' , J. Hathaway now Jibs Coy looking nice and fresh at Awapuni, and though tho Sou , - Wester geldinn has not dono much galloping as yet, he will probably bo a competitor in tho Trial Steeplechase at Hastings next month. A Handsome Jack gelding in tho same" stable will shortly.be given a run over hurdles. Hatley will shortly be placed in commission again by Hathaway, but Sunroso is being spelled till the spring. When Twinkle won the Maiden Raco at Blenheim many considered him lucky, but the subsequent form of tVo second horse, Waiata, places Twinkle's performance in a very favourable light, and time will probably prove tho Day star, gelding to bo a very useful hack.
