EXAMINATIONS.

Civil/ SERVICE, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND TEACHERS. . Notice is given in tho Gazette that a Civil Service' Junior Examination will bo-hold in November, 1909, beginning on or about tho 20th day of tho month. That a Junior National Scholarship and Free Place Examination will bo hold on or about Decoraber 1 and 2, 1909, and that a Civil Service Examination and an examination for teachers' certificates of Class C and Class D. will'bo held in January, 1910, beginning on or about tho sth day of tho month. With the Civil Service Junior Examination will be takon tho - special examination for senior free placcs in secondary'schools aud district high schools ;■ and the first examination of pupil teachers. v with the Junior - National Scholarship' Examination will be taken tho Junior Free Placo Examination (including the examination for junior free placcs in technical schools). Entries for Junior National Scholarships, junior freo places, and tho first examination of pupil teachers must bo made through tho principals or head teachers of tho schools attended, aud will bo received by secretaries of Education' Boards not lator than September 15,1909. : Entries for the Civil Service Junior Examination and special examination for senior freo places Till be reoeivod Jjy tho Inspector-Qon-«ral of Schools, at Wellington, until September 15, 1909, or, with a lato fee of .£l, until September 22, 1909.
