Woollcombe, who intends •to tour/Australia and .Now Zealand; in order to organise, branches of the Cliurch. of England Men's Society, has sailed by tho Ormuz. THE "RULE OF LIFE." / The membership of thoC.E.M.S. in England is over 60,000. ; Each branch is divided into (1) members, who .must, be-communicants; (2) associates who aro , prepared: to , accept a . simple rulo of Christian living sections pledging -themselves, to obey tho "Ruie of-Life '—daily grayer and personal service. \ 'Mr. Woollcombe, after .seven and a half years' 'successful : work as head of: the Oxford House, Bothnal Green, recently "resigned 'that po6i-' 'ion, and accepted the invitation of the Church of England Men's Society to travel for three roars through, the; Empire, in older that h© aud advise the branches of the C.E.iI.S. already established and help in founding- new ones.-' The. first seven months will bo spent in | Australia., The Church' Congress is to meet- this, year in : Portli, -"Western Australia, and.■ at. this-'gathering,as one of the'invited speakers upon the subject of "The Church and the Men,' Mr.- Woollcombe will be able to touch representatives' from every * diocese of Australasia, : ,At' the boginning of 1910.it is proposed that tho tour shall be extended to New Zealand, and negotiations are in progress with' a view to Mr. : Woollcombe becoming one. of the forerunners of tho .
