DEATH SENTENCE. 1 ™ , , London,' May 7. Oscar Slater has been sentenced to death for murdering Miss Gilchrist in' a Glasgow flat on December 21 last. [Miss Gilchrist, a maiden lady of SO years, was found murdered at her home at Queen's Terrace, Pnnces Street, Glasgow, at 7 o'clock on the evening of December 21. Her head was beaten in boyond recognition. A servant girl, with whom she lived alono, went out for an evening napei, and on hei return found her mistressi lying on tho hearthrug in the diningroom. Miss Gilchrist was a lady of considerable wealth. Just prior to the fact of tho murder becoming known, a man was teen to 1 leave the promises.
