In your communication now; 1 to hand, Y you asked to bo informed of tho exact • lines on which tho chamber desires alteration or modification in tho existing tariff affecting tho produce of this country, also > what are tho products on "which conceesions might bo asked for. 1 In reply, I am instructed to state that tho products on which concessions aro desired are New Zealand wool and hemp (pliormium tenox), and dairy produce (butter and choose), and that what is dc- ! sired in respect of these is "moro favourable terms of admission into the , United States." : By this is meant tho re- ■ duction; or remission of the American Customs duties when coming from Now Zealand, or any other stops by which the importation into tho United, States of these products from this country could bo .facilitated.
