SHORT WEIGHT.
Sir—A. correspondent in your columns oh the ,4th instant, complains .of the short weight in factory butter. This I can _ bear out in what ho says, as I have of ton weighed buttor from different factories, but' nevqr, found a pound up to the - weight. It is ,generally from llearly an ounce to sometimes two-ounces short. Why this, has been allowed to go on for so lciig without being made piibuc i have often, wondered. Are there no inspectors of weights in this couhtry, that is, as'a rule, overrun with thcrn, that the' pilblid has been allowed to suffer so. long P—l am etc., J,.■ :. ; .■■■■ .
