THE TAXATION OF FARMS.
At a meeting of eottlers at Ngairo on Saturday jiight, dissatisfaction .was.expressed (says a ; Press Association . inessago. ■ from Eltham) at the present system of taxation on '• farms. Tho following resolution was passed:—"That this meeting protests against tho system of -valuing unimproved .land, and requests that the unimproved. value be reduced by fifty per cent., the improved, value to be,raised by that amount." It is hoped other districts will support the protest. •
