Waiotahi for pheasant shooting, whilo several parties also left for the north. Whangarei and Kaipara principally. ' Yesterday quite a number of shootists went south by tho Rotorua mail train,.their objectives w"P i creeks ; 'lakes, and swampaiiri tho Waikato, whore duck shooting prevails, and tho Rotorua district and To Kuiti for pheasant shooting. Guns were very much in evidence on the station platform all day- yesterday, for a number of sportsmen went to the Waikato -by the afternoon train,' and several also left by the Main Trunk express last evening Several launches: and yachts left Auckland oh Thursday and , yesterday with parties on board, mostly bound, .for the Piako Swamp; Thames, for duck shooting.
