Zealand Motor-Cycle Club, together with the results, as to the first three. A. complete list of the:' results 1 is appended. ITie, conditions of the trials were so trained as to place ■-the wmpofcitors under a.very, rigid test. Compoidioilj. had to weigh in, for classification as light and heavyweight motor-cyclists, ■ at the Wellington Meat . Export: Company's Vfeighbiidgo'. "at Ngahauranga. lightweights being those up to and including horse-power, and heavyweights over that standard. The hill-climb awards were worked . out on a formula wherein the horse-power of each was multiplied by the- time' in seconds,, and . divided by the total weight.' The maximum running time for lightweights was fixod at 3J hours, an average of twelve .miles per hour, and the minimum allowances,-' 2, hours and: 20 minutes, or eighteen miles per" hour, The maximum ■ and minimum' .for ' heavyweights were respectively three, and two hours. Stops, and causes. thereof,, had to be carefully noted, with details as to < repairs, adjustments, etc., which woro nccessary/j io be carried out before tho' running could bo resumed, the poriod of stoppage being added to the' running time.! No repairs or. adjustments, ; beyond , oiling, /inflating, and priming—and then'- only: with live miimteß of the start, were allowed during the -interval between the arrival at Waitanae aid tha commencement of the return journey.
