April 29, 9.50 p.m.) Constantinople, April 29. ■When informed of his deposition, Abdul Hamid said:— "I am Innocent. Since the Constitution was renewed I have never failed to support it. I leave lis authors of this tragedy to Cod. During my reign the Creek war was won. I have extricated the country from many difficulties. Cod's Will bo done." The state of siego has been suspended at Constantinople to permit of the rejoicings. The Turkish newspapers aro execrating the fallen despot. SULTAN TAKEN TO SALONIKA. RESIDENCE SURROUNDED BY TROOPS. (Rec. April 29, 11.7 p.m.) Constantinople, April 29. Two armoured motor-cars escorted Abdul Hamid to the station at 2 o'clock in the morning. Two of his sons, aged seven and soventeen respectively, eleven wives, some eunuchs and servants, accompanied by a detachment of'soldiers, were placed on board the train.. Abdul Hamid was taken to a villa in Salonika, which is surrounded by troops. THE ARMY ENRACED. ABDUL HAMID'S CORRESPONDENCE. London, April 28. , ;Advices from Vienna state that Abdul Hamid's correspondence, disclosing his complicity in the revolt and in the resistance to tho entry of the Salonikans, so angered the army that an overwhelming majority of. the officers demanded his abdication. "When arrested, the Sultan waß hiddon in the harem. Tho suspects arrested include Prince Saba 1!3-Din, president of tho Liberal Union; Ali Komal, editor of the "Ikdson" ; Marshal Zeko, formerly Commander of tho Fourth Army Corps at Erzeroum; and Nadir Aga, the chief eunuch. .Reutor's agent reports to-day that Abdul Hamid, accompanied by eight ladies of his harem, has been transferred to Salonika. Constantinople, April 28. Adbul Hamid's harem has been removed, some of the ladies to the Orcd Seraglio, and others to country palaces. PROTESTANT MISSIONARIES BURNED. A TOWN DESTROYED." Constantinople, April 28. Two hundred and fifty Reservists at Adana, in Asia Minor, seized a train and went to Tarsus, whoro they assisted in destroying tho Armonian quarter. Consular : advices report that a hundred Protestant missionaries >' wero burned in a church in tho Adana district, Kassaba has, been destroyed. There aro great rejoicings in Smyrna and Jerusalom ovor tho result of the.revolutionary movement at Stamboul.
