The damago/is estimated at' 400,000 yon (something over £40,000). [When Buddhism held complete ascendancy over Shintoisja in Japan, , many State grants were made to famous. Buddhist' temples,' and among them wm Zojoji. Theso grants were, however, withdrawn after the restoration .of the Mikado in ISCB, and Buddhism has been virtually disestablished sineo January 1, l/ 574. Alany Buddhist temples ar6 still kept up, but these, are maintained by voluntary contributions from the people and from fbrmer patrons. Tho park Shiba divides with U.veho the honpur of being first in size and beauty in Tokio.]'
