Sho has now avenged a defeat which sho received at the.hnnds of Miss Powdrell in the final of tho Taranald ■championship of 1007, when, after leading five—lovo in the first cot, ehe was boaten by Sliss Powdroll two sots straight. In the. semifinal of the same chamtiionship, Miss Bnlcer had beaten Hiss Nunnelcyi but in the New Zealand championship of tho eamo year the Wellington lady beat Hiss Baker somewhat easily.
